Why Reinventing Dad?
Why didn’t I call this blog Reinventing Fatherhood or Reinventing Parenthood? Because it goes beyond the parenting aspect and it makes for a long URL. It's about identity and what it means to be called "Dad" by a three-foot human being who is looking straight up into your eyes.
Now, when I had originally created the Substack account, my focus was on the Dad part of the of the Reinventing Dad, and then I came to realize that the real purpose, the real message I had to disseminate was the reinvention process.
I will always be “Dad” to my little one(s).
What keeps you up at night?
Being "Dad" means asking yourself the following when you put your kid to sleep:
How am I going to do this for the next 25 years?
How do I ensure my kid gets the best education possible?
How do I keep my kid safe when I can't be there?
How do I make rent every month if I don't have a job or I expect to lose my job?
How do I explain to my spouse/partner that my above-average salary isn’t going to continue all the way to retirement?
What’s going to happen when Artificial Intelligence renders most paper-pushing office jobs completely obsolete?
